Mechanical engineering and design are integral parts of most projects performed by Progressive. Essentially all projects include design and specification of mechanical systems for new facilities or rehabilitation of existing facilities.

The engineers and designers in our mechanical group possess diversified experience in the design and specifying of mechanical equipment and systems which are common to projects in which Progressive participates. This includes equipment for liquid storage, pumping, straining, agitating, mixing, educing, and filtering. Within this group are engineers versed in the areas of storage tank and pressure vessels, material handling, and heat transfer equipment. Utilizing this approach allows Progressive to provide specialized levels of expertise on each project.

The baseline documents used by the mechanical engineers are the process flow diagrams (PFDs) and the process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) as developed by the client or Progressive. Our engineers assist in the initial sizing and specifying of equipment. For the process mechanical equipment, data sheets are prepared for use in the development of equipment specifications for procurement.

Progressive has the engineering capabilities for the development of specialized mechanical equipment, including systems for the following applications:
  • Dust collection, air purification and environmental control systems
  • Clean room facilities for electronics, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical industries
